DAH! Piers Morgan expects that the Founders had the vocabulary and Crystal Ball that would allow them to name modern-day weaponry in their Constitutional document? This is why I do not take or teach many history courses these last few years—-imbecilic morons like Morgan judging history by modern-day experience, and then spouting it out as “factual & moral indignation.” It is always laughable (even tho’ people like Morgan don’t “get” why you are laughing at them.) OF COURSE the Founders spoke broadly, expecting that the individual rights given to us in the Bill of Rights should pertain to what we required in each as it pertains to our EVERY DAY lives in any age or era—–they did NOT write the Constitution for only their contemporaries—but for all of us for all time going forward. To have done otherwise would have been a waste of time and treasure….and very short-lived, which was clearly NOT their aim.
