My 17 yr. old male cat would rather play with mice than kill them. He’s lost the “killer” instinct in his old age, LOL.

This, for sure, has happened to me when I’ve had a mouse “problem” and yet a house full of cats……But it also reminds me of an instance from when my little (now deceased) brother had a pet hamster in an aquarium. Our then family dog, a Manchester Terrier mix….thought this was HER pet. If anyone, even the mailman, came to the door, she immediately ran upstairs to GUARD the hamster. You could NOT approach “her” hamster if she did not allow it. Very strange! But, we lived by her mandate.
