DWTS’s Maksim Chmerkovskiy was the only man on train fleeing Ukraine

Dancing With The Stars’ pro-dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy was born in Ukraine yet now has US citizenship. His parents emigrated to the US in 1994 and the 42-year-old lives in the US with his wife and son. His dancing skills have earned him a net worth of $8 million.

The money didn’t save him from feeling embarrassment and guilt in fleeing his home country. From Daily Mail:

“Days after returning safely to the United States from war-torn Ukraine, Maksim Chmerkovskiy is dealing with survivors guilt, he told GMA on Friday.

The 42-year-old DWTS pro revealed that the trauma he experienced after Vladimir Putin laid siege on the sovereign nation is ‘very difficult to process.‘

Maks was in Kyiv working on a television show when Russian forces invaded and he fled the country on a packed train of ‘only women and children’ refugees. He admitted to feeling guilt and shame for being able to escape the violence.

I get into these crying moments. I can’t control it. I cried on the way from the airport,’ he said.

If I had guilt and shame, I’d be speaking with a close friend instead of advertising it on social media and giving a national TV show interview. But I’m not an entertainer.

My number one complaint with America….open borders and immigration. No other country has taken in immigrants on the magnitude we have and it started in the ‘30s.

Amen, DCG. This pathetic useless excuse for a man is just fishing around for sympathy for being a coward. He deserves no sympathy. He deserves only contempt. My sympathy lies with the father who clutched the body of his lifeless 16-year-old son and wept in an agony of grief and loss. My sympathy lies with the Ukrainian soldiers who continue to fight even after their homes have been reduced to ruble. So Maksim says he ‘lived through some s**t that I’m going to need a lot of therapy for’? No, therapy is not what he needs. What he needs to do is to get off his scruffy ass, get on a plane, fly back to Ukraine , pick up a weapon and defend his ancestral homeland.

Yeah-What Grif said!! But honestly, none of us know for certain what we’d do in that situation until we’re IN that situation.

I think rather that exhibiting the “poor me” syndrome–he should contemplate all the brave and heroic Ukraniam men who are fighting for the independence of that country. I know that I would NEVER pay even a nickle to see that whining, sniveling dancer. It’s one thing to express that things were really tough, but to center on his need for “extensive counseling” when so many no longer have warm homes, or warm food, or warm clothing. Frankly, he makes me sick to my stomach.

DWTS will have a dance off for the people of Ukraine, for their beloved Maxim and his suffering for his people….

Hi! I’m Ukrainian. I was born here in America. I know men, women, and teenagers who want to go there right now. I would too if i could get on a plane and go there. I’m unvaccinated so there goes that. This Maxim guy is a typical Hollywood cringe artist. Ya, go get counseling Maxim… the shrink will ask you how it made you feel to be the only man escaping on a bus with women and children. And you are going to tell him/ her exactly what you said on your video. Why get counseling if you already know you failed your own people. You already know money and fame are more important than the people dying in your homeland. He knows all the answers. He just has to make his feelings a big Hollywood production.
God will punish him. Hopefully it’s broadcast on national television.

R. Lee Ermey’s Geico commercial seems appropriate for the guy:

He will have his 15 mins of fame and more but not the kind he wants. All you can do is pray for people like this and only hope the Lord turns him before its too late.
