With so many people being quarantined/working from home during the past almost two years, I’m surprised we haven’t seen more interviews end up like this!

Funny, but totally human 🙂 thank goodness. The quarantine and Covid (The Chicom as my cousin calls it) took away so much, but this blurb shows that it did NOT extinguish our everyday humanity. Can we count on our kids to keep our feet on the ground? YES! Now, in my household during my distance teaching, my CATS always wanted to look at the kids on the screen (which meant my students could see them touching the screen, looking at the participant’s pictures, trying to interact…..and watch what was going on back and forth), which my kids LOVED. This often sparked a short interlude where students would run to get THEIR pet to hold up to the camera to share 🙂 Cats, dogs, bearded lizards, guinea pigs, snakes, fish, bunnies, all kinds of birds, even a sugar glider and a hedgehog………and throughout that year, my students/their parents sent me so many cat-themed gifts….teacups, coffee mugs, coasters….and a favorite, a plaque for my wall that says…”Well yes, I REALLY do need all these CATS!” Kids and pets combination—- Best anchor for sanity ever for most circumstances 🙂 Be sure to keep as a reference somewhere for when you need it.

I love this brief interlude of “real life.” I am sure that Daddy was distressed when this happened, but long after his children are grown and gone from home–I feel he will think back on this “intrusion” with some degree of fondness.

I don’t think anyone would have faulted him for picking up his kids and giving ’em a hug in screen. That might have settled them down a little. Cool Family! Thanks for introducing them to us!
