The 1970s appliance meme is true – last year at an estate sale, I picked up a hand mixer to replace another I’d had for probably 40 years. IMO, much better & easier to deal with rather than a $200 dollar mixer that I’d rarely use.
And the Covid card reminds me of a really old alias I used to use online – Olga Fokyercelf!

Nothing seems to be made as well as they were many years ago. That’s why I try to take care of things I like. I’m not of the philosophy to throw out the old and get new…
DCG . . . Those were great! The one about appliances reminded me that back in the 1950’s there was an appliance repair store by the name of “Galloway’s Electric” here in St Johns, Oregon. As time went on, they went out of business, because we just started buying cheap, throw away junk for our homes. What a sad change in the way we did things. Now, the various governmental bodies rail about “what to do with all the garbage we create!” I think when we embraced China in the 1970’s and started using all the throwaway appliances they mass produce, our nation’s leaders made a monumental mistake on behalf of us average citizens.

I still have, and use, a Freezer my Parents bought used when I was 2 years old, 64 years ago.

The stressed/desserts meme is funny!
