Federal law prohibits non-U.S. citizens from serving as police officers and deputies.
But on July 28, 2023, Illinois Gov. J. B. Pritzker (D) signed into law House Bill 3751 that allows illegal immigrants, i.e., non-citizens, to apply to be a police officer. U.S. citizenship will no longer be a requirement to serve as a police officer in the state of Illinois starting January 1, 2024.
HB 3751 states, “An individual who is not a citizen but is legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law is authorized to apply for the position of police officer, subject to all requirements and limitations, other than citizenship, to which other applicants are subject.” The law also states that non-U.S. citizens can purchase, carry, and possess a firearm legally in order to apply to be a police officer.
The Fraternal Order of Police had spoken out against HB 3751 after Democrats passed it in the Illinois state House: “What message does this legislation send when it allows people who do not have legal status to become the enforcers of our laws? This is a potential crisis of confidence in law enforcement at a time when our officers need all the public confidence they can get.” (Source: Newsbreak)

This kind of criminal ineptness is enough to make my head explode! I feel as though I am living in a Rod Sterling Twilight Zone feature. How could anyone be so stupid as to vote or support such a law, particularly when it goes again US Federal law? It is no wonder that people with money are fleeing the state of Illinois, leaving those who are poor and have no resources to stay in place and submit to this craziness. Yes, I know, they are deserving of this kind of retribution since they have voted Democrat forever. My heart goes out to their children who will in time willingly join the ranks of those who are on the “plantation” and willingly vote for more of the same. There must be some who would vote otherwise, but just as the morons here in Portland, Oregon can “out vote” all of us who actually research what is going on–we are all stuck living under the lawless regimes.I am so glad I will soon be “going home” and no longer have to endure what is happening in our America.

Nobody, not even the brilliant news people, can see the difference between illegals becoming police officers and illegals serving in the military. The difference is: Police officers would be arresting, detaining and using force against American citizens. Military members train to fight against foreign enemies.
Gangs have infiltrated some police departments already – it’s just a matter of time before we see MS-13 gangbangers with police powers “arresting” people, instead of just killing them 🙄
Let’s just go back & study the downfall of the Roman Empire again. Very similar to this in it’s military was the nail in its coffin. I hate to think we are there already. What is that thing….if you don’t study/know history, you could repeat it…or something like that. Anybody out there listening?
