In a perfect world it would be astonishing to read that 60% of the residents of property owned and managed by HUD are illegal aliens. I can only hope that those who were screening applicants for HUD vacancies and choosing illegals. will live to see the day that as an elderly, frail individual –they are ushered to a cold, wet, windy, dangerous site under one of our many bridges . . . to live out their lives in squalor. Let there be “no room in the inn” for them, regardless of the fact that they are American citizens.
Hi Gracie…we live in semi-rural CA. It qualifies for HUD. A new “ritzy” development went up (by our standards ..b/c they were then & even now near million-dollar properties, & ours worth a little more than half by comparison). This is end of our street on a former 15 acre “ranch.” My husband was morose as we passed them going from our property b/c these “elite” homes appeared to be packed w/multiple families, mostly Hispanic “minorities” (I do the quotes b/c here in CA, Hispanics are now the majority with over 50%…but a significant amt of that are not citizens, which includes, for instance, a custodian of my own school room, who came here at age 13 illegally & is in her 50’s …& now owns 3 homes in this country & at least one I know of in Mexico–she has “gamed” our system in ways I can’t even begin to describe here in brief). These new homes at the end of our street seemed always in a “party” on the lawns, cars parked in the drive & on the street & lawn …sometimes for always… I told my husband, “Don’t worry, they’ll be gone inside of 2 years. They will not pay their bills or take care of the property b/c they are not experienced homeowners & have been “given” these properties (at 2% interest). They are used to someone else (landlord) taking care of their homes/problems. They will spend all their monies as “expendables” & not for “required.” Bingo. They were all gone/repossessed within that 2 yrs I predicted & we are at least somewhat back to “normal” in our neighborhood. My dad was an economist & on the “side,” a housing/rental investor…a sort of “mini-Trump” in his day & locale. I learned at his knee.
