Excellent truth-telling memes! My fave is the first one.

I was very partial to the second one. All these young “brains” who got four-year degrees in non-commercial area, where the degree does not allow them to do anything but teach in that same field on the college level. It is just a monumental waste, of their time, and if our government is now going to pony up monies for all these educations–then a waste of our money. A friend of mine has a grandson who got a four year degree in two languages. One of the languages was Japanese, and I cannot seem to remember what the other language is . . . and guess what? He cannot find a job. So, he is now fixing broken vacuum cleaners!!!!!! Much better to enter into an apprenticeship and come out with a job, and make $80,000 plus a year, than come out of university and have to take a mind numbing job at the lowest wages possible. I think this whole thing shows a monumental failure on the part of high school teachers and counselors who have failed in their job of really preparing their students to enter — the REAL WORLD.
DCG . . . those funnies were delightful! Thanks so much.
Kids don’t Plan Ahea…d….(intentional:). You can go against judgment/get degrees in foozie-wuzzle econ or garbanza comparative social studies & ethnics…& then, go forth to work as a Domino Pizza delivery driver to pay off those big college loans taken to pay for such because, in real life, no one cares about those things & it doesn’t help/solve anything anywhere for anyone. Don’t whine. You knew it was a snake when you picked it up. Gather up your antivenom supply & run for a public office. The only place you might get a job with these majors is in Congress these days. My oldest wanted to major in archeology at a very expensive Eastern school (he had many scholarships…but STILL, we had to help pay..& fund the airline tickets back forth so many times a year)…& I laid down the “Mother’s Law” when I told him …”If you want to eat those old bones you dig up…be prepared to starve yourself & your future family…IF you want one …OTHERWISE…take a double major in a related field so you can support yourself.” He did listen to his mom & did the beloved archeology major AND another major in engineering geology. He’s NEVER been without a job through thick & Obama-thin in his engineering geology major (Biden-thin fast approaching), esp having passed a national certification, & has his own consulting business w/small engineering firms who use his skills & several insurance agencies who require his professional evaluations /testimony (b/c people will never stop suing others over property transgressions such.) Moral: do what you love, but be prepared to do what is valued by the society in which you live if you want to make a living on the side……This out of the mouth of an Art major who worked years in other fields in which I also degreed in order to earn a living :).
