Some of this intuitive, but I didn’t know about what other sleeping positions mean.

I only have one kitty who hides/sleeps in boxes. It does not surprise me that she feels unsafe. We got her/kept her b/c she was riding around in my husband’s car engine until our loyal old dog, 2 days in a row, kept insisting there was something under the hood & wouldn’t allow my husband to get into the car anymore. We fished her out, so tiny, probably with eyes opened only a week or so. Had to bottle feed her. It was January, & she was so cold when we retrieved her that I slept with her inside my jacket that night on the couch, & carried her around for a few more days like that. This cat is gorgeous & meek, but has never ever felt safe, even with all the care & love we’ve given her. We just accept it & give her a box with pillows & blankets. Our others use most sleeping poses–the “loaf,” side-sprawl, belly up, & paw over eyes……
