Amazing . . . . absolutely amazing particularly the dog who could literally climb a wall. Excellent article.
Dog’s are truly gifts from God. So Good Doc you know how to pick them thank you for these.
Amazing dogs! I had my own “pedestrian” (compared to these) yet amazing dog once. Our son called us crying about a dog in a 4-day LA kill shelter that was going to be put down b/c he’d been there months, hidden/shuffled around by the employees, but had been “found out.” I said “OK” bring him. Long story short, this Lab/GSP mix was one of the smartest dogs we’ve ever loved. He knew everything we said: “time for bed” and he ran around the house to pick up every dog toy and put it in a box to “tidy up” at end of day. We NEVER trained him to do that. He knew/learned all regular tricks in 5 minutes: sit, beg, lie down, shake, roll over….and the best “play dead.” He knew when to get us up, go get the paper, go to the pool after dinner, and he MADE us stick to this schedule. He hated cats, and we had tons…so every day I had to tell him “NO CATS!” and he’d give me the side-eyed “OK but I don’t like it,” and he was good with it. When he had to go on a special diet…he’d run around the house and gather “good things to trade” for “better food:” like, the mail, a washcloth, even a hanger. He was a great dog and even better friend. After he was gone, our lives were adrift…we never really did get back onto “his” schedule, which meant we had none of our own.
They become part of the very fabric of the family with unconditional love and your welfare.
