This is an excellent video by a foreign (Australian) news source because our MSM or legacy media are corrupt.
Elections have consequences
This was how Los Angeles County voted in the November 2024 election (source):
In the 2018 gubernatorial election, Los Angeles County voted for Gavin Newsom by 80-90% (source). Newsom Cut Roughly $150 Million From Wildfire Prevention Budget In The Past
In 2022, Democrat Karen Bass was voted as mayor of Los Angeles by 54.83% (vs. 45.17% for Democrat Rick Caruso). (Source)
I weep for the pets and wildlife that are killed or injured in this wholly manmade inferno, the destruction of which is so mind-boggling it’s biblical in scale and ferosity.

When will the libtards ever realize that elections have consequences? Vote for a dum-dum, and you will lose.
Its so sad to see this occur and at the same time so maddening. The majority voted for this so what did they expect?
Then this occurred today
California lawmakers in the Assembly have gaveled into the special legislative session to help the state prepare for legal battles with the incoming Trump administration.
Democrats moved forward with the bill to get $25m to CADOJ—-will have budget hearing Monday.

Cant. Fix. Stoopid.
Did I misunderstand . . . . why would the mayor of LA go to Ghana to be present for a Presidential inauguration? Such weird goings on in our country!
It’s a boondoggle, a freebie vacation.
After watching clips of “Hollywood Stars” lamenting the loss of their mansions . . . . I could not help but ponder in my mind, “Did you not vote for this with your incessant support of left wing policies, such as DEI hiring, rather than hiring quality people who can actually do the job they were hired for? Somehow I feel less sorrow for them than the little people who may not have gone all in on Progressive ideals.
One thing I noticed, and I am wondering if this occurred to anyone else , , , , I noticed in any number of the pictures, that entire bushes and trees were left unscathed. This seems reminiscent of a California fire that occurred 1-2 years ago where the very same phenomena was seen. Later, I believe that the State of California put out an edict that only little houses would be allowed to be rebuilt in that area. I think it will be interesting once the conflagration has died down to see just what kind of reaction the State comes out with regarding rebuilding the area.
When we consider the horrific fire in Hawaii and the BS that followed it–I for one am getting rather suspicious of these weird “fires” etc. Perhaps that’s just the musings of an old woman.
You are correct with that whole post. Let them whine about their mansions and material junk. The life lost is not acceptable on any scale.
I live in a (light) red CA county next to blue counties afire & besides paying more taxes betw fed/county/state/other taxes than 2x my 1st gross teacher salary of 30 yrs ago….(no wonder we’re the champion of “homeless states”), I know I’ll be paying in my nearing retirement for yrs for this fire debacle. Too, I have no hopes that, if I catch fire (or fall down in a quake), I will be saved by my state, county or otherwise services that I pay for out the nose, just as I pay for uber-amounts of other services w/my tax base but never benefit–like law enforcement
My son’s mother-in-law lost her home in Pacific Palisades, escaping w/only a backpack of important papers & her laptop, & car. She is living w/my son & her daughter in 2-bedroom rented apt in LA. Additionally, same son, like many, lost his income (just reviving/coming back fr COVID 2-yr-shut-down) b/c of lost business & his patrons’ lost their homes. Too, Our father/son beloved yard tenders of yrs lost an elderly uncle in the Altadena fire b/c he could not get out of his house alone, & was told to “stay put,” that someone would come to get him fr the fire dept…but it went so quickly & they could not reach him. He perished/burned alive…Our neighbor’s daughter lost her home, same place…I know I’ve not heard the end yet. I have a cousin in Santa Clara, on fire. Have not heard from her yet. We are in the “Inland Empire” which many times has hosted fires like this b/c we are on edge of a National Forest… mostly defended by Federal/State & Local when it arises…at least before it reaches us…which it hasn’t yet in my 30 years here.
How can you tell these people of such a vast area that there was nothing could be done to prevent this spread over such a HUGE connected acreage? It’s truly breathtaking….the regulations, leadership, the “Green New Deal” decisions, politics, & so forth, that led to this day of petty species preservations (smelt…a finger-length fish—could they not have been preserved in a small sanctuary until their habitat was redeveloped??????) Instead, humans, over a vast area, had to die &/or sacrifice their entire lives’ possessions for them. The Newsom-ordered destruction of water reservoirs (at least 4 I know of) in the interest of “climate restoration”…DESPITE a Fed gov’t payment to CA in last yrs to BUILD more reservoirs …This state of CA handles money so corruptly that it might as well be linked in history to the “Biden Crime Family.” Money pours into this state coffer from both the tax payers, & the feds…& never reaches the target for which it was intended. TELL ME WHERE IT GOES???? I’m remembering the rat-hole of the decades-drain of the “bullet-train” that has still NOT been built, & into the mansions of our politicians, including our present governor. On and on….
You get what you vote for in this country. Never forget. In the end, you can blame this one & that in public service, but YOU put them there w/your vote. Will Californians & others, ever learn? Or…will they load up a U-Haul & just relocate to get away from what they’ve created,,,but take their same politics along with them & likewise ruin the NEXT state they call home?
Oh, CalGirl, I’m so sorry for the losses of your son, his mother-in-law, and others. Stay safe. I hope you can leave California soon….
Thanks so much Dr E…appreciating your well wishes & support of many years. Hope all is well with you of late? What is that old saying, “God doesn’t send us anything we can’t endure/handle” or some such? I guess I’m there. I know you have been. Husband is also in the throes of health issues. I need to retire physically, but don’t know if I can financially…yata yata. Back to the issues: CA was once a beautiful & lovely state, with many “perks” to entice people to live here, raise a family, love life. No More.
