My wife has a round plastic top 12 inches in diameter. She runs a chain through and then hangs the feeder on the end of the chain. When the squirrel’s climb down the chain wobbles every which way, she put wax on the plastic when they grab on they fall every time. 🙂 They got to were they try jumping to it from the tree and fall again. They are some of the smartest rodents around even the cat’s can’t get them. There’s 180 acres of forest behind our house plenty of them buggers. If an apocalyptic shut down happens guess well be eating a lot of squirrel’s if it gets bad enough.

I throw out plenty of birdseed in the front lawn for the sparrows & other birds, but for my tree rats, I toss out plenty of peanuts still in their shells – they see something bigger, and they gravitate to that, plus it takes a little more time to chew open the shell, and if they want to take the shells to go, they can only fit a couple in their mouths.

Actually, I thought there might’ve been a squirrel “rapture” last week…

I didn’t see a single squirrel for 3 days, and I live & work in heavily wooded suburbs – very odd 🤷🏻‍♂️

They got their stimulus package from Brandon so they are game binging in the nest and ordering out for pizza lol. My dog gets after them and takes about a day for them to come back.
