Our brother-in-Christ, Brian Heinz, a longtime member of this blog and its predecessor (FOTM), was diagnosed with Stage 3 lung cancer. He desperately needs our prayers.
This is what he wrote in a comment:
I could use prayer if anyone can supply found out I have lung cancer Stage 3 C and two lymphomas from it as well doing chemo and radiation together to see if they can stop it. But any prayers would be appreciated thank you in advance.
This is my favorite prayer, a plea to our Lord, Jesus the Christ, for His mercy:
Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us. That in difficult moments, we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is love and mercy itself.
May Our Lord have mercy on our brother, Brian Heinz, and may He comfort Brian in his time of affliction, surround him with Your light, and heal him of his cancer and restore him to full health. Amen.
Please remember Brian in your daily prayers, and envelope him with your love.

Father, I pray in the name of your holy child, Jesus, for the healing of our friend, Brian Heinz. That healing purchased on the cross some 2,000 years ago, we apply to Brian by faith in the name of Jesus. Father, we know you love him, and that you hear our prayers. We thank you by faith for Brian’s healing, though we don’t see it at this moment, we know it’s accomplished. Great is Your faithfulness.
Beautiful prayer, TD. Thank you.
Thank you so much I am humbled for your friendship and all those here we are all of like mind and I do not worry I will suffer this for Christ the least I can do for the suffering he endued for us I can do this either way I will win in Christ name.
I am humbled by your journey and acceptance of the Christ by your side. I often wonder if I could do this myself if called upon. I pray for you daily and hope that your destiny is also my own—a walk that I can take with the same faith that you have. You are blessed, sturdy, and faithful. Your fight is ours at large, and we pray for your steadfast resilience and angels by your side….and the support of your doctors, your wife and family, your friends and faith community.
CalGirl your faith is strong if called upon you will stand with him. I see it in your writing. Once you realize your going to win either way you can do it. The pain I feel when in radiation I just in my minds eye see our Lord suffering for us and my pain is gone while I am on that machine. You will do much more than me and I know your faith is that strong. Thank you for your prayers and kind words your a true Saint.
You have already done more than me, and have much more to do. I send today’s blessings, as always. And thank you….”once you realize you are going to win either way, you can do it.” Truer Christian words were never spoken. This is a universal message for all. We thank you for summarizing it into a shorthand for all of us, not just me. 🙂
We will pray for you, Brian. Take good care of yourself and fight the good fight.

Thank you so much mistears mom, will look at them. I will have to wait for 3 months after the chemo’s I’m doing now, before they will check me again. So in that time, I plan on starting my own now that it will not interfere with what I was taking. And looking at a lot of oppositions. Thank you for this.God Bless
