This is a great article! I am in the process of letting my grey hair grow in. Since COVID, and the inability for women to be able to freely access hair dressers–I am seeing more and more mature women with “grey outgrow.” There are some women with grey hair who are unbelievably beautiful. I don’t know if I will ever achieve that, but I just thought it was time to “Do Something Different,” something that did not require the time and money involved in coloring my hair. Although, I started going to April, my hairdresser, on her 21st birthday. Sadly, she moved to Arizona when she turned 43. Somehow, I just did not have the heart to start with someone else (particularly when I checked out what current hairdressers here in Portland wanted for coloring hair–between $180.00 and North of $200.00) I think us Baby Boomers are adopting a different attitude towards the idea of women having grey hair. I certainly know I have. God Bless all us “woke” women who are willing to flaunt grey hair. Thank you DrE for this wonderful, and useful article. You are the best!
Unfortunately around $200 is the going rate in major cities. Hair coloring is one of the services where stylists make the most profit and women WILL pay for that service. Here in my small OK town I pay $90 (plus tip) for color. A steal!
