Hey guys, there’s an extra 20 apiece if you don’t let me hit the ground. It’s muddy over here.

Another CalGirl caption is in 4th place, with one #1 vote and 4 points:

Hi! I’m Greta, a high-functioning autistic, being used by the Global Green Movement, and I’m loving every minute of it. What the heck else could I be doing in my condition to participate in anything, let alone globally? Period.

The ‘It’s All An Act’ Caption Contest

This is our world-famous 269th Caption Contest!

Here’s the pic:

About the pic: On January 17, 2023, climate activist Greta Thunberg, 20, was hauled away and briefly detained by police while protesting the expansion of a coal mine in western Germany. According to Reuters, the young activist, along with a group of protesters, were warned by police that they would be “removed by force” if they did not vacate the mine site. Reacting to videos circulating on social media of Thunberg seen laughing with police before she was hauled away, viewers accused Thunberg of staging the arrest, which both Thunberg and the German police denied. Here’s The Body Language Guy’s video analyzing the incident:

You know the drill:

  • Enter the contest by submitting your caption as a comment on this thread (scroll down until you see the “LEAVE A REPLY” box).
  • Body and Soul‘s writers will vote for the winner.
  • Any captions proffered by our writers, no matter how brilliant (ha ha), will not be considered. :(

This contest will be closed at the end of Tuesday, May 16, 2023.

‘To get the contest going, here’s my caption (from Shakespeare’s Macbeth):

Life’s but a walking shadow, a poor player,
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage,
And then is heard no more. It is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.
