These dogs are Belgian Shepherds – specifically the Malinois breed.

Belgian Shepherds are known to be highly intelligent, alert and sensitive; they are typically highly trainable, with a strong guarding instinct. Hence many are desired for home protection and they are very well suited for security services.

While achieving great jumps they appear to be flying! Check ’em out:

They are also among the most innately aggressive and dangerous breeds around. You usually have to abuse a Rottweiler or Pitbull to make them mean. In contrast, Belgian Shepherds are among the breeds that tend to need training against being mean at a young age. (Sharpeis are another breed that tend to be innately mean.) My sister was attacked by her family’s Malinois around 20 years ago. She still bears the DEEP scars where the dog severely tore up her arm. This dog was professionally trained and had been with the family for YEARS, with regular training refreshers. It still attacked her. That dog ended up being euthanized as after the attack it became more brazenly aggressive toward everyone around it.

Any dog can be dangerous if they’re not properly trained.

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belgian_Shepherd#Temperament

“The Groenendael and Tervueren varieties have a reputation for occasionally being snappy, making them less suitable as companion dogs for children; the Laekenois, whilst considered very good with children, can occasionally be troublesome with other dogs. The Belgian Shepherd responds well to training and responds very well to firm and understanding training; they require training from an early age, particularly the Laekenois which can have a tendency to try to dominate a weaker-willed master.”

Sometimes those are neurological problems. Tumors are often involved.

Incredibly smart dogs that always need jobs to do. They are not meant for couch potatoes. The military uses them a lot.

Thank you DCG for this most remarkable post! These beautiful dogs literally fly through the air and climb buildings! Amazing! Any negative comments about this post are ridiculous and irrelevant, and finally, are most inappropriate.

That’s why we refer to them as ‘fur missiles’!

Sleek and beautiful. Someone outside my city raises them and he discourages people to purchase them if they are not going to train them. This goes way beyond housebreaking them.
