Long ago, my husband I noticed in our multiple homes/jobs across our country, that we, from the East Coast, could/thrive & work anywhere….but, when we were sent to California, we noticed that Californians sent elsewhere…ALWAYS returned to California within a year or two. They can’t “make it” elsewhere. . California is, in truth, an altered state of existence since the the days of Reagan. It’s culture and institutions (like school, local government, shopping experiences, & so on for every day life) are so different to the rest of our states by comparison, to seem alien to our national overall experiences here in the USA….and, the rub is….Californians don’t know of this disparity. They think they are the “norm” or even the “future.” In truth of our national bag of troubles these days…they are an uber representative of the problems this nation now faces….and representative of the policies that cause these problems in the first place. On top of it all… I see no end to this b/c my students & parents are literally addicted to their cell phones & the sound bites they get from them for news from the several “pseudo” news online organizations. Thomas Jefferson was right. A free and honest press is the cornerstone of our democracy.
Meghan called Oboma to come help with hiding the bodies. He is good at that. He was there the other night sneaking in and out.
